Are you playing this song live? Sounds very good either way, but I'll be really impressed if you were playing the guitar & harp at the same time. 8)

hi dan the guitar and vocal were as one but the harp was put on after...and i sent a copy to acoustic guitar workshop and they said atriculation and tone very good BUT  the rythem is not correct which is a sorta blow :( thought i was pretty much on the ball, when i listen to orginal it is played in a different way, the whole thing has been a lot of work. but i wont give up, thats the glory of love for you  .smoke

Dig the harp on this, and the guitar work ain't too shabby either. I think I can hear what the Workshop means by rhythm not being correct, it mainly seems that way because the playing seems a little forced. I think if you cleaned it up a little and let the bass notes ring out and mesh with the other guitar parts, it'd go a long way towards bringing it together. But I definitely enjoyed this one, nice going.

I'm sure as you play it for a longer time it'll meld together.

Used to be, was a part of me felt like hiding.. but now it comes through. Comes through to you.

Hi smoke, finally a chance to log in from home so I can listen to some of the stuff here.
Overall I liked it, got kind of a leon redbone thing going.
The rhythm did seem a bit off, but I think it was that your sing seemed to be trying to play catch up with your playing, singing seemed a bit hurried. Individually all the aspects were good just needto blend them a bit better

Immature? Of course I'm immature Einstein, I'm 50 and in a Rock and ROll band.

Love the harp, nice fingerpicking, voice is fine.....

But - one thing I learned very early on was, get the guitar down first, then add vocals - it's like trying to rub your head and pat your belly at the same time - you can work it up to concert standard at leisure.....if you play both at the same time, and you haven't played the same song over and over again for days, either the guitar or the voice is going to take a back seat....

But....I take my hat off to you, fingerpickin' like that and singing at the same time is not easy - you've very nearly pulled it off.....

(Takes hat off - puts it back on quick in case anyone notices parting is getting wider.......)

Did I mention I loved the harp? just in case I didn't already, LOVED THE HARP!!!!!

:D :D :D

look thanks guys for true feedback its only when people are straight and tell it how it is that you can improve,i used to think everything i done was tops! sadly it can,t be that way...i think when you put a lot of hours in on a piece and it begins to sound right[ish] its tempting to reveal what you have done. [funny i can spot others mistakes and not my own]...will take all the advice here and play on 8) ....thanks again...smoke
