I wanted to compare my three small bodied guitars side by side. They are in order; Collings OM - short scale - koa/sitka; Collings C-10 - deep body - adi/mah; Martin 000-18GE - adi/mah.
Love to hear your feedback!
Nice playing. I think it would be nice to hear all three without a capo.
I liked the first one best, real clarity in the notes, beautiful tone. The second had a bit of a twang in some notes and the Martin, although I'm being really picky here, sounded muddy in comparison. Full, beautiful, but muddy.
Nick got it. I agree. each have their own quality of voice. I'd be happy with any of them.
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have that Martin. Great tone.
Also I'm biased, since I don't own a Martin and I do play a Collings OM1A
thanks so much guys for taking time to watch and share feedback! I think the capo was a factor - i hope to do a video with fingerstyle playing. Sure appreciate hearing from you - i bet your OM1A is killer baby!
all the best,
dale
The first Collings is amazing! That guitar really sings.
I agree that the C10 is a little "twangy" but still sounds good and
the Martin sounds like a Martin great tone but the OM just blew
me away. I own a Martin D18 and now I gassing for a Collings OM
Oh Yeah Fantastic Playing
thanks a lot for watching - i really enjoyed reading your feedback - i'm glad you like the OM - i hope you add one to your collection!! All the best,
dale
