Here's a tune I recorded in '99 with Cakewalk and my home studio. It's probably my favorite *sounding* song, somehow the production seems to have come out better than usual but I'm not sure why.
Holy Virgin on Fire vs Drunken Evil Dead
Thanks! Any feedback would be most welcome.

If you want to know the truth, it started as my attempt to write a Smiths song :)
Thanks for the thoughts! I'm glad the kids like it :) The guitar solos, I believe I had just gotten a multi-effects unit at the time so I was having some fun with that! Had to give it a good workout.
Glad you liked it too, thanks!

Nice attempt. Better than many I've heard. I really liked the clean electric. The only thing for me was that the bass is way, way too overpowering. You could drop that 6dB no problem. The Lead didn't need that delay effect. Actually it really was thrown off by the delay. Other than that, I actually liked th lead. It was "off" in a funky way. Work on the mix a bit more and this could sound really great I think. Not incredible great but very good great. Uh....yeah. I think that's what I mean.
Thanks, huesph! You're definitely right about the bass--I was so proud of the bassline on that song that it had to be mixed louder than anything else! :) I would definitely do it a little different today.
I'm not sure I hear the problem with the lead delay, but if I still had the master I'd do an A/B with it and see how it works without it. Live and learn!
