Double d is way off key. You held your own Rich. What more can you ask for?

Way to go Rich, really progressing well! Some of the others seemed to have a cookie-cutter solo ready to paste over it, sometimes with no so great effects. (DoubleD for example...)

I was in there with one of the "cookie-cutter" solos.....my first attempt at this sort of thing, so no offense taken. I come in right at the 5:00 mark.....it was a total blast to do - even if I sucked :)

By friend did the part at 6:38 - he's new to this as well.

Let us know what you thought of it

Its a great thing when you realize you still have the ability to surprise yourself.

Rich,

Nice job sounds great. Actually for the most part they all weren't to bad.

Not the guy, keep it up, you and your buddy sounded OK. The more you do it the better you'll get.

Sounded like it was fun.

How did you do the recordings?

I listened a couple times. You did fine, Rich.

This exercise shows how difficult it can be to create a really compelling, interesting, stand out blues solo. Such a simple thing, supposedly, but the results are usually fairly mediocre (for all of us). This is why BB King, Albert Collins, Hendrix, Clapton and similar are/were the masters -- they can make it interesting every time.

(And I think I understand what DD was attempting, even though he didn't pull it off: playing out and also switching minor to major and back -- not always an easy thing to do well. He over played it.)

Rich, i thought yours was awesome. The guy right in front fo you was all noise, but you came in with actuall feeling. You used silence very well. The only thing I thought was a tad bad was the tone. It was pretty hissy, didn't say blues to me. But the I thought your solo was defiently one of the best.

I thought the guy at 3:55 was awesome. He really stood out.

NotTheGuy, your's wasn't too bad either. Keep up the good work.

Yeah rich, nice stuff. A few of them stood out to me as well, but I don't have the times because it was played on quicktime. Very good though. Parker Fly had a good one to if I remember correctly. The whole thing was pretty good, fun to listen to.

Rich ... You used silence very well.

Agreed!

Rich, I also recall thinking your choice of phrasing enhanced the impact of your solo significantly -- a few of the others would have come across much better had they done the same in place of their fast riffing.

sounds great

It must be getting early, clocks are running late....

Paint by number morning sky looks so phony....

Dawn is breaking everywhere light a candle, curse the glare....

Draw the curtains, I don't care 'cause it's all right....
