I miked this small old, old amp with a Shure SM 57. a Hwy 1 tele on rhythm, 80"s strat plus for lead.
straight into the amp. no effects.

That thing sounds pretty good, nice lead guitar

Let us wait for the Arjen's review. Meanwhile, great tone for that small amp! Did you do any test recording using the condenser mic?
dogbite, what do you use to record with? My guitar always sounds kind of "boxy" with the stuff I record with.
My two complaints: Vocals aren't loud enough, and if you are going this amazing at guitar, you need to give us longer songs.
Seriously, you're an incredible guitarist. Great tone, makes me reconsider my posistion on Strats. Everything sounds great.
Kinda had a ZZ Top feel to this one eh?
It'd be awesome if you found a good ol' blues backing track and just gave us some straight up improv. Have a lot to learn from you sir.
thanks for listening!
this was a test for the dynamic mike. I did use the wide condenser mike for the vocal.
playing this amp full blast did not wake the neighbors. it reads 40w on back.
I record using a USB audio interface. Cubase Le is the recording software.
being new at desktop recording I am trying different things and learning by doing.
I am not trying to perfect anything yet.
this time around I wanted to fatten up amps output. I copied the first track of the telecaster
laying down the rhythm to the second track. if I left it synced with the first it sounds like Mono.
so I had one track start a nano second later.
my strat plus has three Gold Lace pickups. they have a lot more drive than the tele.
it was no problem rockin' that amp. this I left on the center to set it apart from the doubled rhythm tracks.
lastly, I did the condenser mike before mixing it was way loud. I tend to set my voice back in the mix.
I am not very confident with my singing yet.
wow, thanks for the props on my guitar playing. I think of myself as a rhythm player first. lap steel has drawn me out.
I can't shred nor do I have fast licks. so I have kept it simple. and let the tone carry me.
I would be happy to lay out a BT. I need to finish something with Smokingdog first.
thanks.
Dude  Nice chops and tone!! Your voice reminds me of that guy from "Dire Straights" BTW, how would that amp sound with the Ric lap steel
I haven't tried the Ric lap steel in it yet.
Great sounding amp. Awesome overdrive. Nice playing as well.
