the project I'm working on will contain quite a few Radiohead-esque abstract & synthy tracks, and to balance things a bit I'm writing some poppy tunes. Any critique welcome. There are a few things I'm not happy with but I'd like some unbiased opinions.
I haven't seen you smile
Since fate knocked on your door
And talked about the trial
You've been hiding from
For all those years

Chained against the wall
Your dreams locked-up inside
Waiting for the day
You don't to hide
You're drifting in the past
a haze of beer and pain
where hope can never last
While you cry out in vain

I like this. the ease of how this work pours out of my speakers is incredible.
great headroom and panning. it is an impressive recording.
have you been listening to Dark Side of the Moon lately? take this as a compliment.
as I have said, the recording in itself is interesting and engaging (as in DSOTM).
the guitar is really nice. there is a David Gilmore quality to it. again, a compliment.
you have a good tone, so why not use it, and you play it well. (you have been holding out dude).
one thing to think about is the licks. they became too similar after awhile. another guitar, another tone/voice
could increase the energy.
I would not worry about the comparisons. you absolutely own this piece.
what a cool direction 8)

I agree with dogbite, very "Gilmourish", but that's a good thing! 8)

Sorry I have no suggestions, I like it how it is. :D

Gotta love that intro and the synths really highlite the guitar. Really enjoyed this one my friend.

Way to go, no nits or crits.
