I had to try one more country song.
here's my version of a catchy late seventies country and western song.
Oh Darling

it is a mutt of a song. :)
Yeah, man. Got the country groove going good. I looked at your note on Soundclick hoping you had divulged what you played and how recorded, etc. No such luck, but I do agree with the "have to add some slide". I thought I heard some earlier in it, but not later and was wondering why not. Regardless, I think some more will send this over the top with the country vibe thing. Way to go.
In short, me likes.

Sometimes I don't know what I can say... probably one of your best recordings, I like very much! :D
I don't know if you already add the slide, it heard some slide in the second half. I like in this way.
And the quick tremolo effect is incredible!
It seems you discover how to operate the drum box. I like very much the pattern.
Thanks for sharing!
PS. But Meteor is still my favorite!
thanks for listening and the great feedback.
this is my attempt at harmony. you wll never hear the out takes. groan.
I used my Martin acoustic and Hwy 1 tele. ezdrummer and midi bass.
no slide.
and I think that is a good suggestion. I will have to work something up.
oh, I multi tracked the guitars. after making the drum track I played the acoustic to set the timing.
then sang the main melody, then the hi vox and then lo vox. after that I added the clean tele.
I tuned the lo E string down to D. I wanted a baritone sounding guitar.
then I got out the tubescreamer , set it really low and recorded a pretty lame lick track.
I like the rhythm but not the lead. I got lost.
I used a strat for the tremelo track. I used an on board effect for the trem.
it took a saturday afternoon. about four hours.sure shows hey?
Thats really inspiring :D Truly happening. My kind of country music. :note2: I don't remember this song, who did it back in the 70's?
thanks Ken. I am assuming it is the 70's. I heard this on a compilation disc while on the highway on day.
The Okanes did the original.
listening again ...I really need to get my tele to play a cool lead in there.
That is great! And I don't really like country music. :D
Love the tremolo effect, that's one I just recently started playing with.
Great one, db! Perfect song to listen to first thing in the morning. It put me in a great mood. :D

Most of the country music people around here are imports. I'm a native, so that means I either dislike it or I only like it because I work in the business. :)
I do like a little bit of country, but most of it I could do without. You get outside of Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard and Hank Williams and I'm done.

I think Nick can do it. I'd PM him and ask.

Sounds great!! Maybe someday I'll be able to sing and play that well!!
I really enjoyed the song, I've never heard that one before.
In Space, no one can hear me sing!
hey Joe. thanks. I changed the arrangement and a lyric or two. sure hope that Will Carter doesn't hear me.
