This is a collab I did with a friend of mine.

My leads times are:

1st solo 00:35 to 01:08

2nd solo 01:40 to 02:15

3rd solo 02:32 to 02:46

4th solo 03:22 to 03:55

Well I thought you did a great job however, the style generally doesn't go over well here. If it was a blues thing you'd get rave reviews. To quote an old western cliche' "they don't take kindly to yer style round here". check this thread. http://forums.guitarnoise.com/viewtopic.php?t=13257

I agree. It's too bad, becuase most of the rockers I hang out with love and apreciate jazz, blues, and classical. But far fewer jazzers love and apreciate metal. Both are difficult styles, both take extreme amount of chops, and obviosly ashilan's got em. Well done man. You are very good, and thats a killer lead tone. The notes were very exact and intentional. This is of professional quality I would say.

The meaning of life? I've never heard a simpler question! Music.

Hey thanks for the nice comments! I also like to play other types of music, be it blues, jazz/fusion etc.. I'm not for 'shredding' for the sake of it. I try to work out leads that make sense in some way or another, kind of tell a story. I know a lot of people say that there is no "feel" etc.. i think of it this way. It depends what type of "feel" a music contains.. If you go down a rollercoaster drop at 70 + mph, your gonna feel something.

Nice playing and good to hear you are into a variety of styles, as well.

Wow, that was really cool. I think that if you got yourself a decent singer (not the cliched metal screamer or a cliched high pitched squealing iron maiden wannabe ) then you could have yourself a pretty good song.

My only complaint is that it is virtually a 4 minute solo, and the solo really doesn't have many dynamics and the pace is pretty much the same... this probably would be a set back when writing a song. Of course, I'm one to talk, I can't play half as fast or as smooth as that but just something to think about if you decide to write music sometime.

Very cool stuff. I usually don't dig fast playing, but you put feeling into it as well. Great sound, well done.
