so many times when I have grabbed an instrument to warm up I sometimes play something that surprises me. something
very cool. unfortunately, in a way, the moment is lost. the groove or lick or song you just played cannot be heard again.
poof. gone into the ether. the temporal experience is fine , but wouldn't it have been nice to capture one of those moments?
so.....
I got my digital interface back from repair. I tuned my uke, a pre WWII Roy Smek that has a plastic fretboard, turned on a mike and pushed the Red button.
mistakes and all here is Ukee Bluie

That was very cool. Something worth keeping and expanding on.
Renee
very nice, really enjoyed that.
#4491....
The good blues men do not only play with the hands, they also use the feet. The uke sounds great and the rhythm comes from the foot. Very cool!
PS. And do you say it only has four strings? Mmmm...
Sometimes I don't know what I am writing... I don't mind the sentences construction, I use different words! Thanks for your patience!
yep. four strings tuned G C E A
the G string is higher. it was odd having a high string on the side at first.
G C E A
my dog has fleas.
that's the melody from that odd commercial.
that's the tuning.
my foot always gets going. unfortunately, so does my humming.
Wow, that tone is awesome. nice job with that 8)
Curious instrument and curious tuning. G C E A, the first four notes in your tune. It makes me want to play it.
Thanks also for the explanation! :D
You ukee sounds cool - i dont think i could have the time to learn another instrument - can you apply a lot of what you know about guitar to the ukee - is a lot of it transferable??
"I like to play that guitar. I have to stare at it while I'm playing it because I'm not very good at playing it."
Noel Gallagher (who took the words right out of my mouth)
I don't think I've heard a Uke played like that before, but I love it, makes me want to go out and learn how to play one!
In Space, no one can hear me sing!

in some ways what I have learned on the uke can transfer to guitar. the finger positions change, but the ideas don't.
the uke has chords like guitar, so songs can be worked out and played. I will never forget the Concert fo George (Harrison). McCartny began playing Something on a uke, then the whole band came in. it was thrilling. Harrison wrote quite a few Beatles songs on uke.
Joe. I think you would do well with a uke. mine follows me around like a puppy. it's always at hand. I work out many ideas with it. I have learned where the chords are. I can make open chords and 'barre' chords. the barre chords take on the finger position of an F chord on a guitar.
lots of similarities between uke and guitar.
The uke is a pretty cool instrument - have you ever seen any of the videos on youtube - The Uke Orchestra of Britain (something like that ) - some pretty neat stuff.
Recording practice stuff can give one some good ideas to work with at times.
Thanks for sharing
The Powderman
this site really helped me get started on uke.
the British uke orchestra is great.
Cool site! Got to get a uke  Hmmm...wonder if I could tune the mandolin ti uke tuning?
