This is in D major (more or less). This is a ditty I came up with today. It needs a song in front of it, preferably starting in D major. I played the guitar with the capo on the 3rd fret.C, am, B shapes.
any one interested?

potential here. one thing that bothered me was the bass and the guitar (slide?). both played practically the same thing or were expressing the same melodic line. it created a conflict where I had to listen to one or the other because both got in each others way.
maybe the bass can be simplified or better, feature the bass more as the lead element.
know what I mean?

The slide part was actually the bass played with a slide. I was trying to get a "fret-less" bass sound.I'll redo some of the bass lines, thanks.

"Work in progress--need kelp"

Shouldn't it be played in C (weed) ?

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
Did you know that the word "gullible" is not in any dictionary?

Hey Arjen, The chords are Eb maj 7, Cm, A7sus4. I used a capo on the 3rd fret. If I noodle around in the key of D or Dm it sounds right though. I'm thinking that since the notes in the A7sus4 are D_A_D_D_G and a D maj chord is D-A-D-F#
The key of D works here. :?

I think I fixed some issues that dogbite had. I left the bass line alone but I took out a good part of the "frettles bass" out.

Okay, I'll play around with it. I'm thinking of trying a little variation: Eb^-Cm7-Am11-Bb7, will see what happens. It should be a little piece of music that goes in front of your piece instead of on top of it, right?

Okay, here it is. It's an unprocessed improv so forgive me the mistakes. I took the bare harmonies of your progressions and changed it a bit: Eb-Cm-Gm-Bb. The tempo is slightly faster then your piece but not too much I hope. Quite the contrast but screw it. :D

Wow, it works for me :D I like the fact that you did this as an improv, I know my mine was a bit rough in spots  You really did a nice job on the melody. I don't really know a hill of beans about classical music, but I know what I like and I loved this.Thank you:D
