I've finally figured out how to record simple things. I'm recording in Ableton Live on a Mac. I'd like to post what I did to the Hear Here board. Can someone tell me how to go about doing that? I believe Ableton Live saves as WAV but I'm not sure.
(I've tried to open my file in Audacity and save as MP3 but it wouldn't let me. I don't know why not.)
To save as a mp3 in Audacity you need to install the "lame_enc.dll" file andshow Audacity where it is (you ony need to do this once, and the how to isn'tthat complicated). I found a place called "www.dll.com" which had it available as a free download
Then you need to find somwhere to host the mp3. Soundclick is very popular, as is "Myspace". Some places cost, some don't.
Then you post a message in Hear here telling us whereto find it, and we all go and listen and say nice things about it.

goldwave.com dude, i used to use it all the time. But i havent been putting stuff on the net in a long time so i dont really do that. Just use the old version. Look on the site in description of the new version. You can also find the lame_enc.dll on there.

i've got that "lame" file from audacity. the first time you try to save something audacity is supposed to ask you to tell it where the file is but it's not doing that. whenever i try to save anything, save is grayed out and i can only cancel.
