Everything takes longer than what you think....

In Garageband I can save to iTunes. I don't know the format that it saves in but it's not mp3. I have a Soundclick account but they will only take mp3. How do I go from Garageband to mp3 so I can post either using iTunes or not? I have Quicktime player and Realplayer on this computer if either of those will do me any good. Somehow I think this involves buying some software.

GarageBand exports the songs in AIFF format (similar to the WAV format). It is a loosless format (you don't lose audio information).

Now you can convert it to another format by means of iTunes. For converting into MP3, review in iTunes Preferences (Advanced) if the MP3 is the selected format. If so, select the song, make ctrl+click for the contextual menu and select "Convert selection to MP3" or something similar, sorry, my copy is in Spanish.

When finishing, you will get the song in MP3 format at the selected baud rate. You can remove the AIFF format to save disk space, the original tracks are in the GarageBand.
