I like the guitar work and the rhythm but personally I think the lyrics are below Clapton's standards. For the most part he just keeps asking if I want a Revolution? But the guitar work is very funky and a simple rhythm...

I think that he's singing the Beatles' "Revolution" in a completely different style.

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.

You mean this is The Beatles Revolution of just the chorus is? If this is The Beatles song then clapton COMPLETELY changed the lyrics

Dunno, just heard about 15 seconds, before I had to go help the missus.

I think people expect too much of Clapton. On the one hand he is an exceptional guitarist and yet on the other he is a composer/musician with a huge catologue of resourse's at his disposal, so its no small suprise when he changes his style at the drop of a hat. It makes a nice change to hear a piece with him playing just a nice melodic almost reggae/funk rhythm and not too much guitar work above the 12th fret. There is some nice lead work in this piece but its almost incidental to the main comosition and wouldnt be missed if it were not included.

I think we will be in for a treat when the album goes on general release.

Just wish he would have a shave, it would take years off him !

What I find interesting is that he's able to get such a good tone when his guitar isn't even plugged in half the time.

He was probably just keeping time when he was doing that. I do that myself, not that I comparing myself to him  just a useful tip, I guess.

Thanks Rodders! I've liked that song since the day I heard it!

Good point rodders. Not to mention, he's got one of the best bands backing him ya know? He plays with some of the top musicians of their style in the world.
