I was wondering if anyone knew of a good site or book on amplifiers. I have been playing for a few months and I would like to learn how my amplifier is actually working. I can't seem to find anything online about tube amps, groove tubes, preamp, etx. Looking for something very beginner. Thanks

Josh

You might want to look for a book entitled 'The Guitar Handbook' by Ralph Denyer.  It give a bit of info about all things guitar, ( history, theory, maintence, repair, amplification, and recording).

Hi,

The following is a very technical tube amplifier website and it has many links.  The author, Niles, has unparalleled knowledge on the subject and after visiting this site you should have most of your questions answered.

Hi again,

I found another site for ya.  It is a more basic, sort of amplifier 101, site.  Have fun.

I would say this is the best site there is if you want to learn about amps, and i would recoment that you go there before you buy an amp.
