I know I have been asking about amps lately but I want to get a decent one at low cost until I can get the Fender Blues Reissue...That's the one I want for "my sound". But I would like more than the 15 watter I have now...

Behringer GX112 Blue Devil 60W. I only really need a good clean channel since I use the V-Amp for my effects...I read the reviews on Harmony Central but as you know they should be taken with a grain of salt. I do like the Behringer products and a 60watt amp at $129 is insane! Plus my neighbor has been ticking me off cranking his big screen TV so I want to give him a taste of his own medicine!

Thanks

Mike,
You do realise that, all other things being equal, a 60W amp is only going to be marginally louder than a 15W amp. To double the volume of your 15 watter, you would need a 150W amp.
If you're determined to rub your neighbour up the wrong way, you can do it with the 15 watter that you have, you just need to work out the best place to put it. If you have wooden floors, find a cross beam and lay the amp on top over where it runs. Play a lot of notes on the low E and A strings - low frequencies travel better.
I'll tell you a true story. My mother still lives in the house where I grew up. It's a 1920's brick built semi-detached, with wooden floors. For several years, we truly believed that we had a ghost. There were footsteps on the upstairs landing that we couldn't explain. You could hear them move from one end of the landing to the other and then disappear into one of the bedrooms.
It took us several years to find the answer, but find it we did. It wasn't a ghost, it was our neighbour. There is a beam that runs from one side of the building to the other. As he walked along the landing, the sound waves from his footsteps bounced along the beam and "resurfaced" at a similar position on our side of the house.

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
Did you know that the word "gullible" is not in any dictionary?

hanks greybeard but I want the amp for other reasons as well. I want the extra imputs/outpuds for my new drum machine. Plus I want to put my V-Amp through an effects loop instead of directly into the instrument imput...

I just talked about my neighbor as a way to vent...the 15 watter is nice but I just want more...that's the only way to put it...and I don't feel like waiting until I get the Fender amp I want...it will be a LONG time before I get that!

My nephew has a blue devil, But i was not to impressed by the tone, and I like Behringer products alot. You can get a behringer GMX 210 for around $150, or the GMX 212 for about $260( I have this one) . Nice tone for a modleing amp and plenty loud    ---the dog

As Ken I don't like the sound of the GX series much, the new GMX series is a whole different matter. But if you just want it to amplify your V-amp it should work well. Since you'll be skipping the awfull pre-amp and use just the 60W poweramp and 12" speaker I think you'll be getting quite some bang for the buck. I myself have the GMX212, again just as Ken, which is a bit nicer, being 2x60W@2x12" and having an acceptable tone of itself (and an AWESOME slide sound!), but it is priced a bit higher. Three times higher IIRC.

As always, try before you buy. That amp with your V-amp should be enough to play along with most sane drummers if you ever want to try that and should amplify the V-amp better since you can skip the preamp of the GX112.

I haven't heard that particular amp so I can offer advice on it. I would look for something with the best clean sound and use V-Amp as a preamp. Great tone will be heard everywhere even at low volume. At times playing pool parties I've pushed 4x12 cabinets to the edge with 15 watt amps and folks down the block wanted to complain but they understood.

Smokindog, I also have this amp (GMX 212), recently purchased, it seemed like a great deal. Do you have any tips or tricks for putting it to good use? Its a little intimidating. I just began playing along with my oldest son. I'm on an Ep. SG 400 and trying to get that signature
Angus Young tone, any suggestions? Thanks, Rick.

I use mostly the reverb settings, (2 0r 4) I like the tweed,hi-gain or hot and us settings, the british( Marshall) is good also. I play mostly Blues with a tele or a strat. I don't use a lot of effects, but I like the delay (20 all theway up)Good for country ( Luther Perkins would be proud :D ) You should be able to get some nice tone with the SG :D

Just in case anyone is interested Music123 has at least one more open box LX112 for $199. I will be doing a review on the one I just got in a day or but it should be relatively positive.

The entire GX range has been discontinued and replaced with the GM(X) series.
