The reverb knob on my Blues Jr. has no effect. Is there something I should be troubleshooting before hauling in to the amp tech?

I've heard of a couple that have had reverb problems and also the phase inverter is prone to oscillation. Although not all that common. If you happen to start hearing a kind of a funny ringing sound. It would first have you think it was bad tube or a speaker. It may well be a phase inverter.
