hey, uh this is assuming youve heard the song, happiness is a warm gun, by the beatles. its on side 1 of the white album. well anyways when the song switches over to 6/8 time in the middle, you can hear a really nice fuzz tone that lennon plays. does anybody have any information on what kind of peddal he uses or recording information of this song? i love it so much. :D
I'd be prepared to be corrected, but I believe it was an Arbiter Fuzz-Face into a Vox AC30. I had one myself years ago, and I found I could produce nearly the identical tone. (I was playing a Strat through it, into an AC30TB.)
Here is a good description of the original unit, with pic, and here is the Dunlop re-issue, which is said to be pretty good.
Ooops :oops: Just checked it out on Google, and it appears it was the very obscure Colorsound Tone Bender (see this link) - still, the Fuzz-Face was capable of a darn good imitation, nonetheless!
