First of all, I'm a complete amateur, so please bear with me......
While playing around with an effects box (reverb, chorus, delay) which was plugged into the effects loop of my Peavey 5150, it suddenly cut out.
Basically, if I have anything plugged into the effects loop, or if I have NOTHING plugged into the effects loop, the amp sounds about 1/10th as loud as it was before. Plus all the treble is gone.
if I plug a patch cord from effects receive to effects receive, it gets VERY VERY loud. Like "2" is like "9" used to be. Plus it is very noisy - a lot of hissing.
What did I do? How can I fix it? Any ideas at all????

PRS custom pro II straight into the high gain jack of the 5150, reverb in the effects loops, that's it, if that makes any difference.
