i know its not my amp. i want to say its my pickups but im not quite sure. i think the input on my guitar is jacked up because when i plug in sometimes i get nothing, and a small tap on the body sets it back in. its not my cables, they're brand new. any opinions? is it deffinately my pick ups or is there a certain way i should be setting my pickups at, what?

Sounds like you've got a bad connection or loose wire at the input jack. If you are handy with a soldering iron take it out and resolder it. Also, sometimes the tabs(?) on the input jack get seperated over time and do not contact the male cord jack snug. Try polishing them with a pencil eraser and bending them (go gentle) in slightly so they make better contact with your cord jack.
