I got the latest GP in the mail yesterday, and there is an ad for a JS Mini Colossal (or something like that). Strange thing is, the Peavey website does not have it yet, presumably a January announcement..the ad says something like class A, three channel amp, and the picture with Satriani holding it shows i to be a 1x8 or 1x10 combo.

This should be an interesting amp.

I guess the news is out now that NAMM is here:

Peavy JSX Mini Colossal

5w all tube, built-in attenuator, XLR output, 8" speaker.

Some online stores are taking pre-orders ... $500. A bit pricey compared to some other small tube amps and to their own new no-frills ValveKing Royal 8.

But the JSX does have some interesting features.

Looks to me to be a list of what people wished their Epiphone Valve Junior could do. (Besides sound great) It does cost a bit more though doesn't it. That Royal 8 looks interesting.

Still need a reverb :!: Might be pretty cool, but 5 watts still sounds better through a 12" speaker. here is my ugly but cool sounding epi rig 8)

Is that box on top an attenuator? I like your rig. It kind of reminds me of mine. 8) I run a Tech 21 Tri OD to a delay pedal then to the VJ Head. My cab is a 4 X 12 cause I like the sound of a 12" speaker also. No EQ, but the Tri OD has bass and treble.

At NAMM A whole truckload of 5W amps was announced. Fender has a 600 reissue as well, Peavey had one and a few others. Small tube amps are all the hype now.

I went to Radio Shack and picked up a 25 watt in wall mono volume control , works very well.

Wow ..... very creative. A lot cheaper than a Weber MicroMass.

Yes, but then again, it doesn't do the same.

Yeah, the MicroMass is a speaker motor attenuator. Weber has some resistor attenuators also. I don't doubt they might sound better cause they have treble compensators, but I still like the economy of Dogs rig.
