I do believe this is my first post! I'm playing through a crate fxt30 amp that has 16 effects built in. Can I run effects pedals through it and would it be a improvement? The amp has a clean and solo channel. thanx in advance!

Of course you can run pedals to the amp. A pedal is connected to the guitar then goes into the amp. So you should be able to use them. From my own experience I find pedals to give better effects than the ones built into an amp.

Thanx for the reply. I've picked up alot of tips and tricks from this site. Been 30 yrs since I messed with electrics so I'm just a little behind.

You could get creative and use pedals along with the built-in effects. Like this signal chain for example.

Guitar-> Equalizer->distortion pedal->Equalizer->Amps pre-amp->built-in Chorus or Delay->Amps power amp.

By blending the right amount effects you could achive some great tone.
