Hey guys, GC has a sale on the Vox VR15. lists for $249.00 and on sale for $89.00. I need a small practice amp because the Peavey Bandit is just too loud and that price for a tube amp is great. Anyone know how they sound?
That is not an all-tube amp. It's a hybrid, based on the Valvetronix series: http://www.voxamps.co.uk/products/vr_range/vr1530.htm
That said, the Valvetronix ones sound great. I haven't played with the VR series much, but I would think the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, so to speak.

Yeah, I know it's not all tube, I read the specs. They are supposed to sound like the valvetronix models, but I can't find reviews yet.
Oh, sorry man. From your original post I thought you thought it was. No biggie.
Harmony central reviews seem to be pretty decent, only 4 of them on there, though:

Weird, Musician's Friend says it has been discontinued. Maybe that's why you're getting a great deal on it? For that price, I would think this would be hard to pass up, if someone were in the market for a simple, small practice amp.
Wow, for a cheap azz amp this thing sounds pretty good. Nice OD tones and decent clean, BTW this sucka is loud.
$96.00 out the door with tax, good deal.

Playing guitar and never playing for others is like studying medicine and never working in a clinic.
