I want to replace the stock pickups I have in my RG1527 Prestige i.e V77 & V87. I found with high gain it loses the clarity. So I am thinking of changing the pickups. I like to jam with blues tracks, a great fan of 80's rock and I spend a lot of time to learn and play 80's rock songs. My band usually does kinda progressive, neo, power metal. I know its a wide range of sound but I need suggestions for replacing the bridge (V87) and the neck (V77) pickups.
I just have a thought for Seymour Duncan at the bridge (Dimebucker, but these things are for 6 strings).
Any idea and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Actually, I think Duncans are a great place to start; maybe single coil model and yes humbuckers for the styles your referring to. I'd also look at Dimarzio whenever hair metal comes into the equation. 8)
