I am an intermediate guitar player looking to expand my effects. There is a mind boggling choice out there!!
I have looked at the:-
Podxt Live
Digitech GNX4
Digitech GNX3000
Boss GT8
Korg AX3000G
Which do you think i should get??
Hey MJ.
I have the GT8 and love it.. so much so that I haven't made the time to write a proper review, which I will.. soon hopefully here at the end of the week.
Anyhoo on another board I found this guy "KewlPack" has a sight and he goes head to head with some of those you listed.
Here's the link Link
In the Shoot out are the
* Behringer V-Amp
* Boss GT-8
* Digitech GNX3000
* Line 6 POD XT
* Vox ToneLab SE
A great read if your interested as are the other articles on his site.
I think it really boils down to two things.
1. What sounds good to YOUR Ears
2. Which one is the easiest to navigate - some of these MultiFX's can be unwieldy with all the controls and knobs and stuff.

Thanks for that I'll have a read. I'll also look for a review with the GNX4
Thx again
No Prob.. and welcome to Guitar Noise.
This the best Guitar Forum on the Web. The folks round here ROCK!!
Very nice and knowledgeable and very helpful, they have been to me at least :).
I encourage you to search and scour through the forums as there's a ton of knowledge and info shared in this place.
Cheers.

There's another tone path to follow ... analog.
I had an Digitech RP-8 tube pedal and loved it for a long time.
A friend has a Line6 AX2 --- I got very jealous every time I borrowed his amp.
Line6 has every cool sound possible - Hendrix, Marshall, etc.
I have a very old Fender Deluxe Reverb, but I didn't like the Fender sounds on the Line6.
It's hard to describe since the Line6 sounded so good. It was dead on ... almost.
I could tell that something was missing --- something very subtle and beautiful.
How do you describe what's not there?
I've heard people try to describe what I'm talking about on the web... "bloom", "breathiness", "coloring", "touch"
but words are meaningless unless you really hear it.
Anyway,
My recommendation is an old tube amp (Fender/Marshall) and analog pedals.
I have a Subdecay Stupid Box and want a Blackstar for my birthday.
