Hi - just joined. I'm mid 50s, been playing since I was 14 and almost earning a living by it.

Check out Guitar George
he knows all the fancy chords
but he's strictly rhythm
don't want to make it cry or make it sing
- Mark Knopfler

That's me. Pretty confident on pop rhythm and fingerstyle / ragtimey things but never could play a single note solo.

Hope to make some new friends and pick up some tips.

I got the "Guitar George" reference before I even looked at the thread - I'm another long-time rhythm guitarist. I was brought up as a Catholic, and when I bought my first guitar, my dad joked, "You'll never be a lead guitarist - you'll have to learn the rhythm method." I didn't get it at the time, but I thought it was pretty funny later......

Welcome to GN!

Oh and yeah - I don't know ALL the chords yet, but I'm trying....some would say very trying!

:D :D :D
