Wow, talk about feeling like a Phoenix rising from the ashes!
Last year my 25 year marriage sadly ended. In my "younger days" I had a brief stint as a folk singer with a partner in local clubs. My now ex-husband bought me a Washburn acoustical D27S somewhere around 1982 as a gift. For some odd reason (finally deciding to move on??) I blew the dust off it last week and took it into a music store to have them look it over. The technician told me that it was made in the USA before they moved production to Korea and offered to buy it from me. I refused his kind offer. Thankfully it survived moves from Chicago, Ohio, and California with no damage. It still has a rich sound.
So now I have a "hankering" to do some picking and singing. Unfortunately, I don't know anybody in my area with that interest. So....I guess it's time to seek out some of those aging folk singers to satisfy my itch!!! I had forgotten how long it takes to build up those callouses but two days down and they're starting to build up again!!!! So much for vanity....those acrylic nails just won't cut it anymore. I am planning a St Patty's party so might shock some of my friends who are unaware of my past by learning a couple of Irish tunes. I figure after a couple of green beers, I should sound pretty good to them!!!!!
This is a great site. I'm glad I found it.
:D

Welcome to GN, Ketey!
Welcome to Guitarnoise!! Some say it's addicting, and often spend more time on here than actually playing. What part of Georgia do you live in? I live in NW GA in Rome.
