Hello everyone! I am new to GN, though I've been reading the forums for a while before I decided to register. What a wealth of information. Great site.

I play electric guitar. Currently I am playing a DeArmond guitar that belongs to my church worship leader since he plays acoustic mostly (I don't know the model number or anything - see picture below). I actually play bass in church, and used to play drums. I end up leading the music in church with electric when he is gone (I am not too fantastic at acoustic playing, nor too quick with open chords) but I also play a lot on my own on the side, and have a little wannabee garage band with some guys I know who are beginners on their instruments just for fun, nothing serious.

I enjoy listening to a wide variety of styles, from Led Zeppelin to Green Day, to bands like Five Iron Frenzy and Sublime too. I also have a pretty big background in classical and choral music - I have a degree in vocal music from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, if anybody has heard of it.

So that's a little about me. I'm looking forward to all of the good things I can get from being part of GN.

PS - I have a little guitar project I'm working on, which I may post something about in another forum, keep your eyes peeled.

I am where my mind put me.

Okay, okay.

I'm taking an old beater strat-style guitar which I acquired from a brother-in-law, (the brand is "Kima" something I've never seen before) gutting it, stripping it, and essentially only keeping the original body, replacing the parts (most of them were busted or rusted, and basically just nasty lookin circuitry) and rebuilding it to be a rockin axe. I'm in the middle of the refinishing stage now. Which forum would be the best place to discuss it and post pictures, do you think? Repair and maintenance? I've seen some other projects there.'

I am where my mind put me.
