Hello all,

I've been lurking around here for over a year now and thought I should post up a quick greeting. I bought a Peavey acoustic starter pack a few years ago and have been messing around with it off an on. Well, now I want to get serious. I have my first lesson on Wednesday and have been reading and trying the lessons from here.

Anyways, this is a great site with lots of great information.

Thanks!

-Jim Baldwin

Howdy, Jim! You'll be pickin' and a grinnin' in no time. Just listen to your teacher, practice, practice, keep an open mind, and practice.

So, a quick update: I had my first lesson tonight and I really think my instructor will be good. He gave me some pointers and suggestions and we discussed what I wanted out of the lessons. I came home with a few scales to practice and some chord progressions. He also showed me an interesting way to practice the scales using an existing song in the key that I'm working on. Pretty neat stuff. I'm pretty excited.
