Found your forum today, and taking a poke around.
I've been playing for 30+ years, and all sorts of styles. Right now I'm in an acoustic-only phase of my playing, having sold off my electric rig to finance a move last year, and am happy pushing air without current. I don't gig, but I do open-mics at the local roadhouse here outside of Austin, Texas.
