I managed to play some barre chords tonight!!!! YeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaH!!!!
OK I was using an electric with a really low action....but I PLAYED BARRE CHORDS!!!
Might not sound a big deal to some of you - but, having severed a tendon in my left (fretting) hand a few weeks ago, I've been having MAJOR problems playing barre chords - mainly because the middle finger on my left hand - yes, the one with the severed tendon - wouldn't do as it was told - it just flopped everywhere. Credit goes to the grandson - he said "Try the electric, it'll be easier...." about a week ago - I've absolutely hammered it this weekend and all this week (which is my excuse for not posting much!) and tonight I managed to get through "Badge" - it's in easy songs, the hard part was lifting the bad finger on and off the Em chord to get the Esus2 - but I made it!!!! YEAH!
It's a real breakthrough - there were times over the last few weeks, I never thought I'd play again to a reasonable standard.....now I KNOW it will come back.....
Aaaah this has been a GOOOOOOD night .....
:D :D :D :D :D

"I play live as playing dead is harder than it sounds!"
YEAH!! . Thats actually very impressive. Many of us have a hard time with barres without having tendon problems. I have a feeling you'll get back to where you were. Keep at it.
