Guitar strings have been a favorite tattooing tool for a long time.
I always keep some around in the shop for cleaning out small holes in things, like carburetor jets.

I made a thumb ring out of a bass string... :D
I used a 36 gauge Ernie Ball to hang a bird feeder.
Can you guys imagine a guitar string stuck in ya? I've actually done it a couple times with string that's wrapped around the tuning peg. It hurts like hell!
I don't need to. Ouch! :shock: :cry: I was restringing an acoustic guitar I got loan of for the summer when I did that.

As a person with tattoos, who has also been pierced by guitar strings.......... I'll go with a regular tattoo gun any day of the week! MUCH less painful! :D

I have two tattoo's from a tattoo gun made from an e string, a pencil eraser, a bic pen casing and an electric motor from an old cassette deck.
This was years before Mcgyver! :)
