Mr. DADGAD! Very influential guitarist, but not well known by the broader public.
"Everybody got to elevate from the norm."
I'm really sorry to hear that. Davey was my teacher in London years ago. A great natural talent in blues and folk fingerstyle, he also loved, and was highly accomplished in Baroque and Renaissance classical styles. In the early 60s he was highly influential among up and coming guitarists such as Jimmy Page and John Martyn.
RIP

Same here, although I know a lot of good music by people who quote him as a big influence.
RIP Davy.

From the BBC. I didn't know his work....
You probably know him by one of his most famous songs, Vic - Anji.
Thanks for the post Alan I hadn't heard.I discovered Davy Graham by way of reading Will Hodgkinsons guitar man book (great read) .Which lead me to Anji, Its the only track of his I own (the wonders of I tunes) and have been trying to learn it from a very good tutorial on You tube by Will fly http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=9ntdGoKj2gE . There was a bbc documentry about him so maybe that might be on again. He appeared to be someone who inspired others but never sought fame.
