I was reading Rolling Stone magazine and saw that this site http://www.wolfgangsvault.com/ is broadcasting free concert footage from the 60's and 70's. I guess there is a big controversy going on but it seems that all you have to do is go to the Concert Vault tab on the home page and register, then its free. Supposedly they will be adding new concerts every week.

It is incredible. :D

Apparently concert promoter Bill Graham made bootleg tapes at the mixing board for his personal collection. Some really great stuff in there.

I wish I had more time to listen to more of the shows.

Get in there quick. Download anything that ain't nailed down. Load up Audacity at the same time as you're playing the live footage and hit "Record" - whatever it takes.

This from the BBC

"The owner of a US memorabilia website has been taken to court by several rock groups, who claimed he sold vintage recordings and souvenirs illegally.

Grateful Dead Productions and Carlos Santana were joined by stars from Led Zeppelin and The Doors to bring the case against William Sagan. "

I would think the Grateful Dead would have trouble protesting about bootleg recordings...

I never thought of that  Apparently Bill Graham had about 40 truck loads of "junk" he had stored like t-shirts, posters and such from concert promotions over the years. This guy bought the whole lot of stuff for 5 million bucks and is selling it. The recordings are streamed only and the guy is paying royalties on that. The posters are left over promotional items that was owned by Mr. grahms company, so I don't understand what the problem is. :? I got my info from Boycott riaa, so take it with a grain of salt
