Got back home this afternoon.Surgery all went well, legs seem to be equal length  I will have physical therapy at home 3 days a week then for 3 weeks then at PT center down the road. I will be using a walker for about 4-5 weeks (Walker-bad leg -Good leg-repeat). The pain is not as bad as I thought. The Oxycontin does the trick nicely. If I start not to make good sense you know why  I'm trying to be as active as I can. Also doing deep breathing exercises.

Its kinda funny. My job is to get open-heart surgery patients up and moving, breathing and able to do things for them selves. Ive had more than one patient or family member call me a slave driver or worse over the years
Thanks for all your comments :D

Woo Hoo!!!! Glad it went well. I wish for more and more feeling better quickly.

And yes, those oxy***** products to flake one out and make their correspondances quite odd once in a while. Something I have much experience with. Sorry folks. Hope you can git off 'em soon. 8)

dog, you made it good! all the best for total success.

I assisted with some of the recovery in my mother's hip replacement years ago. It seems to turn out really well, so that's encouragement for you.

Right now I've been upset geographically and traveling, but back to a home base where my old dad is having both knees replaced at the same time.

Gonna be a long cold lonely winter, and a lot of catering, driving & lifting snow. Your life & mobilitility will be much brighter and better now. Way to go! :D

I'm glad to hear everything went well, Ken.

One question...Does this mean you really are HIP now?

UP DATE: I can now climb stairs relatively pain free! I just using a cane for walking. Did some mall walking yesterday. I finished physical therapy. Over all my pain level is much less than it was before the surgery. I go see the surgeon tomorrow, hopefully he will let me drive my car soon. :D
