I'm sorry, but I've decided to let my domain and site go, so I won't be able to host your avatars for much longer. I haven't got the time or energy or inclination to keep my site up, so, since it's renewal time, I'm not going to renew. Sorry for any inconvenience for those of you whose avatars will have to find another host. I don't know for sure exactly when they'll shut it off, but it will probably be soon. Again, I'm sorry!

I'll be more than happy to host avatars (and any other images) for anyone that Elecktrablue has been supporting. I've got a dedicated server and an image upload page already in place for just such things, and many of my friends have been using it on different message boards for years now.

Easy and free...have at it. :D

Pilot,

Thanks for hosting. What am I doing wrong? The file was successfully uploaded, and I cut and pasted the address in my profile, but it says the url is not valid. If I use my browser and paste the address it works? Not too cpu savvy, can you help? Thanks G.

Rocketgirl. MAke sure the http:// is part of what you post here in your profile. The browser only needs the www. to make it work

Nils,

Thanks, I did try it both ways, so I don't know what I'm doing wrong?

I think it is because it is a .bmp. Change it to a .jpg and it should work.

Just read this post and stumbled onto Nils link of IrfanView. A great tool.

Another thankyou to Nils. It's amazing what you learn while playing guitar. :)
