I remember the cover of his "Off the Wall" album, back when he had his original face, and was still black......Such a talented man. Too bad he turned his life into such a freak show.
"Off the Wall" was my favorite MJ LP. Had some nice grooves and was still a bit raw 8) . Michael was my home boy, We are both from Gary Indiana. Born in the same hospital about a year apart. :D I have always felt sorry for him. I think he started to fall apart around the time he did Thriller. I think his father had a lot to do with it.
I was just watching thriller on on you-tube the other day. R.I.P.
it freaks me out to hear of people dying that are close to my age.
RIP Ms Fawcett too.
Especially when they're younger than you are! And, supposedly in better shape than you are!
They said on the news last night that they're going to do an autopsy today sometime. One reporter said that he had watched him practicing for his tour just the day before he died.
TV was weird last night. On one channel they were doing a tribute to Michael and on another channel they were doing the same thing for Farrah Fawcett. Odd that they both died on the same day.

I was sad to hear about Farrah, too. I was one of the millions of teenagers who bought THAT poster back in the 70's. It was when I was trying to find out more about her death I stumbled on the link to MJ's death.
My opinions about MJ are well known, so I won't air 'em again - I feel sorry for his family, especially his children, but I honestly couldn't (and never have) give a hoot about MJ.
RIP

Can't help but wondering if this isn't going to be like Elvis all over again. :? Impersonators and tribute shows coming out of the woodwork? Maybe not. It is too bad he had to grow up the way he did. Can't argue about the talent though.

I can moonwalk, but I won't be do any impersonations.
Here's a cool solo guitar version of my favourite J5 song, I Want You Back:

It's wild seeing someone tackling parts of the melody, guitar and that killer bassline at the same time.

My wife made me get rid of the poster :( ...I suppose it didn't really go well in the living room

RIP Michael Jackson. Brought a tear or a two to my eyes... :(
I was very interested in seeing him performing the comeback tour.
I defenitly think that he re-defined the music video, every one of them was like a mini movie to me.
In Space, no one can hear me sing!
I was away this week... Sad news when I got back...
My next door neighbour was playing his records earlier and singing along - loudly. Fortunately, BBC was showing the Glastonbury Festival - turned over just in time for Status Quo, followed by highlights of Springsteen's set from Saturday night. Managed to drown her out!
The new UK charts today show that in the Album Chart, "Number Ones" is at #1, "Thriller" at #7, "King of Pop" #14, "Off The Wall" #17, and "The Essential MJ" #20. In addition, MJ's got six singles in the top 40; "Man in the Mirror" is the highest of them, at #11. He's featured on no less than 23 of the top 200 singles.

I had heard on the news the day after his death that all of the online stores like Amazon, etc had sold out of all of his CDs & DVDs. I was at Wal-Mart yesterday, and stopped in the electronic dept. to look around, and then thought I'd see if they had any of MJ's CDs... nope, all sold out. :o

Does "the media" REALLY have to dig into his eccentricities??? What ever happened to the old adage about not speaking ill of the dead?
