hello everybody. letting you all know that I will not be around here for an unknown amount of time.
I am moving to a new location at the end of this month. I am unplugging the computer very soon and do not know when I will be able to connect again.
I will try to find a way to check in now and again.
so long for now guitar players.
I'll miss you my friend!
And good luck!
Hmmm... I say good luck because, for my experience, it is not easy to plug again all those color wires in the computer. Fortunately I started to use wireless devices some years ago. (Just kidding, I don't like the farewells.)
Take care and let me know if you need anything.
You will be missed for your time out. You're one of the best friends of everyone, and a well-respected anchor around here. :(
You've been consistent, friendly and knowledgeable. Your posts are always clear, easy to understand - they are on topic, and accurate, reflecting so much that you've done. Your great amount of experience, as well as willingness to share is very evident, and welcome.
I admire your interest therefore in the guitar community, and goodwill to the people through your contributions, which are to the point and always helpful. I've looked forward to reading them. You're a solid rock, man. Come back soon. :D
Like a bird on the wire,
like a drunk in a midnight choir
I have tried in my way to be free.
We will miss you Dog, just make sure you get back on here soon as possible OK! I hope the move goes well for you.

Not moving to England by any chance, Dogbite? No? Darn, that's a shame. You're one of the few people I'd actually trust to play my Telecaster! And amen, and a big +1, to everything Bluejay said!
Hope everything goes well, and you're back online as soon as possible!
:D :D :D

Best of luck with the transition. Are you doing the going out to the country thing wou'v dreamed about? I hope so. At any rate, I hope you find a public machine somewhere and can check in from time to time. Best luck with the move. I can't wait to see you back here in full force.

hi all. and thanks for the kind regards.
I am moving out to the countryside. until I locate my piece of land I will be taking residence in an apartment in a small town.
I have learned that apartments are typically wired for cable. there I will be able to sign up for internet service.
so my absence perhaps will be short.
Hope you find that perfect piece of ground Dogbite.
Country living is good, I think you will like it. I know I sure do. Minneapolis huh? It will be just like it is here! That is almost the exact same latitude I am on. Ever consider moving south?

I lived in the Wisconsin countryside 30 years ago. 30 years in a big city has me filled up. I love the high dry desert of the southwest. too expensive and no jobs there now. the south never appealed to me. too humid, no frost that kills bugs. the ocean always calls me, but never lived next to one. that could be a future retirement idea.
the four season changes of the north is in my blood. living just a hour and a half from the deep north woods is a plus.
the town I am moving to is very musical these days. I see so solo work and a geezer band happening.
Bugs were worse in New England than they are down here in NC. I always thought that to be strange. My friend from minni-anna-pollis says the same thing about Minnesota. Odd. We do get frosts. Normally a few a week unless it gets really cold. Once every 2-3 years we'll have a stretch where it doesn't get above freezing. Up to a week even.
Sometimes I think that I would like to live in the countryside. It's hard to be a programmer out in the sticks. Not a lot of call for database guys.

Good luck Dog. Will miss you. Hope you find the perfect spot. IN fact, find a place were you can invite all of your friends from GN over to jam. A nice room that fits a few hundred people!
Teamwork- A few harmless flakes working together can unleash an avalanche of destruction.
Hope your move goes well :D
Last time I moved I said never again, although I think I said that the time before too!
thanks. this is the week I shut down the computer and move. once I drop my belongings I have a feeling I will take a road trip. there are a few places in the USA I haven't seen. now is the time.
Hey DB,
sounds like it is going to be an adventure.
If you have a yearning to see the country, you could put all that stuff in storage and head out.
Now (while in transition) might be the best time to do the Easy Rider thing (of course in the comfort of an air-conditioned SUV)
Anyway, you'll be missed while you are gone . . .
and thanks for letting us know you'll be incommunicado for a while . . .
otherwise we might have set the hounds out . . . to fetch you.
Later, dude
