after many years of indecision I finally went ahead and got a tattoo. so many designs from which to choose. I think owning a ukulele and listening to older music styles helped me decide on the image. I got a hula girl playing a uke.
I found vintage designs from post ww11 to be most interesting regarding this subject. then I discovered Sailor Jerry.
he was the original ink artists of the sailors throughout the world. they all passed thru his shop in Honolulu and one in SanFrancisco. he was a character. his designs are vintage classic. right up my alley.

if you want to see just PM me with proof of age. :)

allman. it didn't hurt. it stung. when he got close to the shoulder bone it stung more. two hours and only mild stinging.
however, about three hours later my whole arm was sore.today, everything if fine, except that the tiny tiny scabbing is creating tension. so when I flex my arm or reach for something it stings again. in two days from now it'll all be normal.
I am falling for this girl on my arm. how could I not. she is a blonde and plays an instrument. :)

Guess that lady didn't meet Guitarnoise regulations for decency eh!! Ha

It's hard not seeing it now to comment I should have paid more attention to it last night. You really went old school with that one. You didn't get any battleships tattooed across your chest did you?

Yeah, I couldn't do it either. I hate needles. So much in fact that when I went to get checked out at the hospital for bee stings they were going to give me a shot for the pain....I took tylenol instead LOL

I'll send you a PM, I'd love to see it. While I couldn't get one, I think they are pretty cool.

In Space, no one can hear me sing!

I photoshopped the image in order to uphold our values of good taste at guitarnoise.
not that my tattoo is in poor taste. it's vintage. kind of pin up.

moderators please know that I agree with our value set; please delete all if things go too far.

as I grow older my tolerance for needles, like vaccination shots becomes more problematic. never bothered me as a kid.
I always watched. now I can't. it doesn't hurt, needle, but the vaccine usually aches as they are quite viscous and displace
flesh.
tattoo needles are all together different. they sting mind you. no big deal. afterwards the area is sore.

music and guitar playing is fast becoming my exclusive creative outlet. having a hula girl playing a uke on my arm
seems right. I guess it is my further immersion into my passion.

it appears the photoshopped image is ok to send.

I think I'm one of the very few British men who's.....

Never had a tattoo;

Never worn an earring (or had a piercing anywhere, for that matter;)

Still wearing his shirt and t-shirts tucked inside his jeans;

Not got an i-pod;

Not got a facebook account;

Not got a credit card (or a bank account, for that matter!)

Doesn't own a games console;

Doesn't have a mobile (cell) phone capable of storing 10 million songs, 5 million photos, half-a-million video clips and making the toast;

Still has a bigger collection of vinyl records (albums and singles) than CD's.

I have actually thought about getting a tattoo from time to time.....I once made a list of tattoos I'd have and narrowed it down to a few. The Rolling Stones "tongue" logo; The Beatles "Help!" logo (four silhouetted heads and shoulders;) The Status Quo "guitars" logo (two crossed telecasters;) The Who's "maximum R'n'B logo;" or Liverpool FC's badge. Could never make my mind up between them, though - that, and I don't like pain. You'd think I'd be used to it now, wouldn't you.... after all the mishaps I've had these last few years.....

Nah, think I'll give it a miss - if I had one, I'd have to have all five - and I'm pretty sure that after sitting through one, I wouldn't have the intestinal fortitude to sit through another four.

Vic. I haven't those modern appliances either. haven't been tempted for a Blackberry.
except for the computer I'm pretty much tube/analog.
I waited thirty decades before getting permanent ink.
it'll be interesting getting used to this.

I need to write a song.

Wow, dogbite, I knew you were no longer, shall we say, in the first flush of youth - but 300 years? That's one HECK of a wait!
Some typo, too!

That is some nice old school style ink like y'all have said. Still, something fresh and modern about her too. That's quite a work of art.
