Just a thought but is anyone from NW england going to the guitar show at Aintree racecourse on Sun 28th November? I plan to and thought it might be nice if a few of the 'locals' could meet for a coffee, chat and look at guitars and gear, watch the demo bands etc. Been to Manchester and Penrith ones before, pretty good. Aintree isn't that far for me, I could give Vic a lift if needed as he only lives a couple of miles away. Theres one next year too, Sun 15th May at Haydock Park racecourse, hope to get to that too as I live literally round the corner and can walk it in less than 10 mins - hence can indulge in a beer maybe...in which case better leave the cards at home in case I make an alcoholically enhanced purchase  .

Anyone interested?

Well as you know, Ray, it's a bit difficult for me to plan ahead any further than the next hospital visit at the moment, but put me down provisionally - I remember how much you enjoyed the last one! It'd be nice if we could get a few of us together...

:D :D :D

Understood Vic - get in touch whenever, the lift offer is still there. The one at Haydock next year will be handy, hop on the bus to Golborne and ill escort you down-mind you, we will have to pass a couple of pubs on the way, unfortunately

I can walk to Haydock Park in 20 minutes - but there are a few pubs on the way, so say two and a half hours.....

there is also an interesting sounding photo exhibition on at the Lowry gallery in Salford-mister sixties, a collection of pictures of iconic musicians from said decade. I am hoping to get to that on Sunday when the photographer himself (phillip townsend) is there but I think its on until November. Will post a link when I get to my PC, on phone now and its a bit tricky.

Choose a song in advance, and then randomly walk into a booth and pick up various guitars and "magically" start playing together. Fun! My wife and I did that in a store - she picked up a guitar at one end of the shop, and I grabbed a bass at the other. We were each noodling separately, and then she started strumming a song, and I picked up the bass line. We never looked at each other, but there were some double-takes from other customers.

was a good day. Exhibits etc average but got a line 6 spider 4 15 for £60, brand new in box. Watched the 'chantel mcregor band' - a very young attractive blonde girl and wow, she really can tear it up-firey and soulful blue rock player, utterly brilliant, i recommend a look at her site. I would def go to see her again. Superb player, will post some video if its worked ok. Red house and voodoo chile worked well....

Interesting, Voodoo Chile can be risky.

They did a great job of both and their own stuff was excellent too. Recommended.
