Tommy Vance died today....a whole generation of us brits who listened to the Friday rock show are now in mourning......he wasn't just the best ROCK DJ of all time, he was a genuinely committed rock fan....I had the pleasure of meeting him once, he was such a nice man.....another of the great ones gone....."All my heroes are dead and gone or dying on their feet...."
Tommy....may you rock in peace, you gave me so much pleasure and introduced me to so many bands.....

I second that. Many's the time spent listening to his show on my chunky big headphones. I still have somewhere an old 2 hour long interview he did with Roger Waters about The Wall when it came out.
Man us here in canada.. or maybe just me.. never heard about this guy.
