I saw Ravi Shankar in concert in the 70s when I was in college. Never one of my favorite musicians, but he opened our ears to a different kind of music. RIP

I began playing guitar just before the Beatles and Shankar. in no time I had wax paper wrapped around my guitar neck so I could sound like a sitar. love the music. he open my ears to world music. not just the stuff played on the radio.
