Hi everyone,

I'm not sure what category this would go under, but if it doesn't belong here, I'll trust the mods to move it to the correct board.

Anyways, just saw this:

Ray Charles dies at 73

I know he wasn't a guitarist, but he was always an idol of mine. And a giant in the music world. Thought others might be interested too.

yeah he will be missed - he made some great music

I'll always remember him in the Blues Brothers film.... a blind music shop owner.........kid trying to steal a guitar - Ray pulls out a gun and puts a bullet into the wall an inch from his head.......just goes to show how cool he was, wasn't afraid to poke fun at himself.........

RIP Ray

A sad day. The man was an inspiration.

It just doesn't seem possible does it? After all, Ray Charles is truly immortal.

Damn another good one gone. RIP Ray.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming -- "WOW--What a Ride!"

Instead of mourning his death, I'm celebrating his life.

That blind guy sure opened up a lot of eyes!

I wanted to learn to play guitar really badly and I think that I have succeeded.

I'll buy the first round of drinks on MSN later and everybody else can bring their guitars or CD's and we can do them Blues.
