RIP.....John Lennon....28 years ago.

It's seems all the forums I visit have forgotten him.

Back then, they killed one of us.....Very sad, moving.

Do YOU remember?

As long as there are people who appreciate music, John will never be forgotten.

I still remember watching the news report when it happened. Total shock. I wish John was still with us.

He's certainly not forgotten round here although George Harrison is the bigger hero amongst our regulars.

Musenfreund, one of our mods, is the world's biggest Beatles fan, and I quit smoking on the 20th anniversary of John's assassination so I have a doubly good reason to remember the date.

Eight years without a fag - that's not bad going.

Yeah...I remember. I stopped in to a sandwich shop in Tucson and everyone in there was quiet as can be. One guy pointed up to the speakers for the House Muzak and I heard the godawful news. Came up with "Dirty Rotten Shame" later that day...

I was only 8 when he died, but I vaguely remember the news reports. Of course, at the time, I didn't really comprehend who he was. I remember my mom crying about it. She had bought most of The Beatles' singles as a teenager. Once I got older and started listening to them, John quickly became, and has remained, my favorite. I prefer his voice to Paul's (it has a "rougher" sound to it, Paul's is too "pretty") and he was the lyrical genius.

I was watching Football on the TV with a Friend that night. I can still remember Howard Cossell breaking the news :(
