We used to get a deal buying it from the factory.....That's gone I believe.....Too bad, I always wanted to go and getting a deal would seal it....
Start off with the pentatonic blues scale shapes, which is the minor pentatonic with a few extra "blue" notes added...

I find Snarling Dog Brain picks (nylon) or Jim Dunlop (nylon) picks easy...They don't spin around & the knurls keep them in place.
How about mandolin instead.....The same tuning as a violin.....You could relate more easily...It is also backwards guitar, kinda......Look at the tuni...

I find I can use it for slapping, tapping harmonics. raking the strings as well as just making rhythmic moves just pressing down sharply on the fret b...
I hold it like a 45 degree angle & kinda of "slice" the strings......for what it's worth.....
