I recently moved about200 miles and started a new job. Much to my surprise, many people here play music. We just took over the other half of our building, and it was just freshly painted. The cubical walls show up next week, so we had to play NOW!

So we did.

Slightly better pix are here:

Electric and acoustic guitars, bass, drums, bongos AND a brass section, eh? Sounds like great fun. Any plans for out-of-work or after-work jam sessions yet? I'm guessing it was loud - I can see a few loose or missing roof tiles!

:D :D :D

Not so loud, as the drummer had a volume control!

Now that's what you call a working band! Looks like a good bunch of co-workers. Good luck with the new job & band. 8)

Cool Lucky You

I've always wanted to play with a horn section.

Let's see, there was a wide variety because none of us had ever played together before.

Sympathy for the Devil
Somebody to Love
Wild Night
Rocky Racoon
The Boxer
The Weight
a Johnny Cash song, but I can't remember the title
Lennon's Christmas Song (So this is Christmas)

with the horns:
Get Ready
Moondance
Summertime
Blues in Bb (Laura ad libbed the "Donovan McNabb Blues" - "Got benched at halftime...")

There were several others, but I lost track. A couple of the rookies didn't know any complete songs. With encouragement, they'd start off strong, and then say "and then something goes here..." I remember starting "Just What I Needed" by the Cars, but it died... This is typical for first time jammers, and they promised to learn some songs all the way through for next time, and to bring chord charts. And there will be a next time...
