I'm posting a backing track in the style of Jimmy Page. Its a nice bluesy track about 2:00. I want everyone to play over the whole thing and have fun :D In about 4 weeks I will post them and we will all vote on our favorite version. This is something like a battle of the bands.
Every one is encouraged to join in here. It matters not if you have been playing 30 years or 30 days. The Idea is to have fun and learn something new. I went to a bluegrass concert a few weeks ago and they had a 8 year old boy playing guitar right along with the adults. I saw the kid last year also and he had improved a whole lot since then. Dad has had him playing with the grownups since he learned his basic chords.
Here is the backing track, have fun. ken

I just replaced the link to the BT. I had downloaded a 48 bps version instead of 128 bps. Should sound better now. :D
Cool, I think I'll have a go too. Not that it'll bear too much resemblance to JP's playing, but it's always fun to mess around to backing tracks. Compared to JP, I'm an amoeba on the evolutionary ladder...and it'll be a while yet before I get upgraded to double-celled organism.

Hey Ken - isn't that the same BT we used a couple of years ago on "Mad Dogs and an English Gent?" Sounds VERY familiar... well, if nothing else, it'll give me a chance to see if I've made any progress with lead guitar......

Well as you know, I'm no veteran to these jams - so what do I actually send? Same as normal, all my track as an MP3, plus my track with a little bit of the backing track to line up? Reason I'm asking is because this is a full track, not just playing over part of a backing track - do normal rules apply?

On this one you just need to download the BT to your favorite recording software (Audacity, Cakewalk, etc...) add your track (or tracks) mix them your bad self and send me a 128 bps mp3 file 8)(with the bt in the background)
Tracks? In the plural? Hell, Ken, it's going to take me all my time to get one track right......
Actually, I've got it pretty much worked out - slide in EADGBE tuning, this to me is a track that's CRYING out for slide....
I just had a listen to the old "Mad Dogs" track - man, I was crap! I was completely in the wrong key where it changes from Amin7 to Bmin7......
Memo to self - *MUST DO BETTER!!!!!!*
CAN!!!!! do better......WILL!!!!!!!! do better........
