"I play live as playing dead is harder than it sounds!"
I'll go ahead and try one for the opening spot. How do want the track sent? 44/16? 44/24? mp3 bit rate?

Last slot if available, please -- this would get me set up to record again.

Yea, I better start practicing, I'm hanging with the big dogs now :D
the jam forum has been pretty slow lately, Maybe we could get it jump started. I know I've really slacked off lately with my playing so I'm trying to get back into my creative mode :D

There are a lot of us wannabes and cheerleaders out here eagerly awaiting the fruits of your labors.
These collaborations are always so cool to hear. 8)

And when I'm feelin' blue, the guitar's comin' through to soothe me ~
Hey Dog, cool backing track. I was thinking of trying my hand at hosting a jam, but can't find any decent backing tracks. Can you recomend any good sites?
Dan
P.S. Looks like a good line-up for this jam. Can't wait to hear when it's all done. 8)

Hi Dan
You can find backing tracks here :
http://www.guitarbt.com/index.php?page=dl_list
http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=439876
Sometimes this site is open http://jammer.net.ru/mpjam_blues.html
Has many good backing tracks, I have downloaded many of them.
I can email some of them to you if you want (3-5 MB size MP3).
I would be interested to be on in a jam.
Tanglewood TW28STE (Shadow P7 EQ) acoustic
Yamaha RGX 320FZ electric guitar/Egnater Tweaker 15 amp.
Yamaha RBX 270 bass/Laney DB 150 amp.

Darn, I keep missing these somehow. Looking forward to hearing it fellas.
Here's the skinny on what I used for my section . . .
Guitar: Fender Standard Telecaster (yes - a MIM Tele!)
Amp: '92 Peavey Duel 212 (120 watt 6L6 all tube monster, Peavey's answer to the "Evil Twin")
No effects in the chain at all, the track was recorded dry using an Audio-Technica AT2020 large diaphragm condenser.
After tracking a touch of delay was added using the Kjaerhus Audio "Classic Delay" (this is a free VST plugin)
That's it. pretty much I just slapped the mike in front of the amp, set Reaper for Loop record, banged out about ten takes and chose the one I liked the best.

Kalle,
Thanks for the links. I'll have to try them again later, as I can't get the 1st one to load, the soundclick one is fine, but the 3rd one I don't think exists anymore. (I got a page that looked like a "site doesn't exist" page - but in another language). I'd be interested in knowing what kind of bts you have downloaded. PM me when you get time.
Thanks,
Dan :D

OK, just did mine :D I used my Epiphone 332 Dot>Dano EQ> Tubulator With the tone at 4 O'clock, distortion at 9 O'clock>alisis ineko presses for reverb and into my Epiphone Valve Head Jr.
Moonrider, yours sounds great :D

That Tele's an interesting guitar to work with. If you solo the track I did, you'll hear all kinds of little gnarly, wooly harmonics that make the tone almost unpleasant to listen to by itself. Once it's dropped into the mix those same funky harmonics magically turn into "character" that makes the guitar easy to mix so it stands out, but doesn't overwhelm everything else.
