EDIT: Track is finished.

OK, here's the finished result.

Beginning - :59 = Ivan
:59 - 1:52 = Vink
1:52 - 3:16 = Cringe
3:16 - End = Crank

Gilmour Like GN Jam Session

Everyone did great! I learned a lot putting all the parts together too! Loads of fun! 8)

This is a fun backing track. We've used it before for what Smokindog calls Syd's Long Walk (or more directly HERE). Some others on GN did another version as well. Go to it and have a blast.

Figures the dog would have already used it! :) Sorry about that!

I'll see if I can dig up another one similar but not used on here before. Thanks!

EDIT: Heck, I even responded to that post! Maybe that's why I liked it so much!

You shouldn't worry about using the same backing track. In jamming the basic "backing track" can get played for hours and musicians will come up with something different. If you like it, go for it and see what you get. That's the fun, no?

Peace

That backing track is great, I'd love to pitch in.

That's a cool track. I attempted jamming to that a while ago (called it Blues in Pink). It's a 1 take imrov and as usual there are notes that will make you cringe.

David has a point.

So I guess we have myself and ivankaramazov so far. Maybe we can get around five people?

Cringe, that sounds great to me! Wanna grab a section of this little jam?

If there will be any cringing, it'll be my part of this little jam! :)

Sounds like it has 4 parts, from the start to about :58 it follows one progression, then follows another to 1:52, then it repeats them.

OK I'll give it a try. How is the order going to be determined?

Excellent! Pick a spot. I'll take the spot that no one else claims.

OK, one more person ...

Also, maybe someone with more experience putting these together wouldn't mind handling the editting???

Jason

Jason, I'd be very happy to help you with any editing issues you run into. Let me know what you need. If I don't know, I'll find Dog.

Is there one more spot left? I'll take it if there's one, and if there's a choice I will take spot 2.

[PS. It would be my first online jam..]

Bish, that would be awesome. I might be able to do it, but this is the first time I've tried doing the multi-track thing. So you'll probably be hearing from me.

Vink, spot two is yours. ivan and cringe, what spot do you want? I'll take what's left ...

Also, take your time with this. I'm in no rush. It'll probably take me a millions takes before I find something I'm remotely happy with. :)

It'll be a learning experience for sure, and I guess that's really the most important thing (I keep telling myself).

Have fun guys!!

EDIT: What do you guys think of these sections?

1st - :00 - :59
2nd - :59 - 1:52
3rd - 1:52 - 3:16
4th - 3:16 - 4:08

Give it a listen and let me know. I really don't care. I was just trying to find obvious break points. Only bad thing is the 3rd spot is a little longer.

Crank, Great, Thanks! I've already got the track downloaded, now to figure out the key/progression..if anyone wants to help me out by posting it because they've already worked it out, that would be great!

( I just wanted a middle slot rather than beginning or end, less pressure :-) )
