Oh, wow!
"A cheerful heart is good medicine."
Oh, wow!
What he said.
I haven't seen one of those since I was in band in 6th grade. (Yes they had electricity back then.) I also was playing trombone at the time and the only one who could play a natural F the first try. :D
Bish
"I play live as playing dead is harder than it sounds!"
Hmmm, what is it?? A radio? An amplifier? Looks like something they use for hearing tests, with all those knobs to adjust to make some annoying pitch. Can you hear me now?
But I'm going to guess it is a tuner, based on what Bish said.

When my mind is free, you know a melody can move me
And when I'm feelin' blue, the guitar's comin' through to soothe me ~
Its a strobe tuner, It probably cost 3-4 hundred buck in 1970.They still cost that much I think. Its very fast and accurate. :D My guitar tech uses one.
sweet find!
Who needs a signature?
I mean really...
It's almost always lyrics...
or a cliche...
or garbage about me...
Lets just save YOU from the pain, ok?
Three or four hundred?!!!?
Try about $1000.00 back in the late seventies!
This is THE standard for tuning just about anything to within .1 % of a cent!
My old guitar repairman had one and when he had to replace it he complained for weeks about the cost!
Tell you what, I'll give you a WHOLE DOLLAR for it, that's a 400% markup! 8)
When I die, I want to go peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather, not screaming......
like the passengers in his car.
I want the toaster...
I agree with the WOW statement
Here is to you as good as you are
And here is to me as bad as I am
As good as you are and as bad as I am
I'm as good as you are as bad as I am

I really don't understand, why someone will spend thousands of dollers to get the uber fine tuning.Cmon, even a good chromatic tuner serves the way. (And i don't own even that  )
Rahul: you will understand when you try them.

Absolutely. I bought a Peterson V-SAM to set up my guitars, and it's been worth it, even for the occasional use. Just wish it has that same neon orange retro-chic glow of the Conn strobotuner tuner I recall from my junior high band daze.
Nice find, 'Dog.

There ought to be a relatively easy way to re-invent this for much less money, maybe not $25 that a simple tuner costs, but maybe $200. Hmmm, time to tinker...
