Acoustic - if you feel you need something unplugged before you learn electric. Is it out of consideration for the neighbours?
Classical guitars sound best for classical guitar music, some types of fingerstyle folk - and some jazz also sounds great on classical.
Steel string acoustics are good for acoustic blues pop, rock, country, folk fingerstyle, and anything loudly strummed. Many of those styles also feature electric - that's why acoustic is probably best for you. Also there is more similarity with neck width and length and both have steel strings
